The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a series of 7 tests developed to rate and rank movement patterns requiring a balance of mobility and stability. The patterns used provide observable performance of basic, manipulative and stabilizing movements by placing you in positions where weaknesses, imbalances, asymmetries and limitations become noticeable. The goal of the testing is to create a baseline of performance from which future progress can be determined. We use the FMS in addition to other movement specific screening tests with any new private students to help identify challenges, limitations, and faulty movement patterns and tailor future workouts specifically to each individual's needs.
