Pilates is truly a unique form of exercise. It can be completely customized to suit all ages and fitness levels. Pilates exercise will strengthen and tone your body from head to toe, with a special emphasis on the core – your abdominals, hips, and shoulders. It also will improve your flexibility, posture, balance, and coordination with functional, fluid movements.
To help you get the most effective workout possible and become a more efficient mover in all of life's activities, it’s important to understand the basics first. Stabilizing your trunk by using your diaphragm properly creates a pressurized cylinder critical to all other movements. In order to help you understand this concept in your own body, we have designed two Foundation Courses specifically for brand new students to help address some of these key principles. Before beginning any classes at the studio, it is highly recommended that new students try to attend one of these classes. At this time, we are offering our FUNdamentals Class on Tuesdays @ 6pm and our Breathe/Stabilize/Move Class on Fridays @ 9:30am. These classes will review movement fundamentals and principles so you can feel comfortable beginning any of our programs safely.
